What is Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota?

Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota provides free legal help on non-criminal issues to low-income families and individuals to help them protect their basic needs such as income, health, housing and families.

Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota is a non-profit law firm. We provide free legal help to low-income persons and families in twenty-two counties in northwest Minnesota. We are not a government agency or associated with law enforcement or the courts. We believe all people of should have access to justice, income security, adequate housing, quality education, healthcare, safety from violence and exploitation, and the opportunity to improve their own lives. LSNM is governed by a twenty-member Board of Directors made up of attorneys, community service providers and low income members who live throughout our twenty-two county service area.

Much of our funding comes from a Minnesota state appropriate.
